Prayer for Those Seeking God

Prayer for Those Seeking God

Dear Heavenly Father,

We are told in the Bible if we will seek first the Kingdom of God and Your righteousness that You will add all the other things that the people of the world seek after (Matthew 6:33). May they realize you sent Jesus Your son to die for them on the cross and if they come to You confessing and forsaking their sins, You will forgive them and give them eternal life. This new life is to begin now. The moment they invite You to come into their heart You will change them so they can live for You, and Your purposes, and no longer live for self.

Lord, give them the peace and assurance of Your presence as they reach out to You. Reveal Yourself to them, Father. Heal them from their sickness and deliver them from all bondage of sin.

Bless them and may their new walk in the Spirit be one that brings glory to Your name! Amen.

What You Should Do Now!

The Word of God says, "…and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" (John 6:37).  We have included a sample prayer and when you agree and pray it (or one like it from your own heart) the Lord will hear AND FORGIVE YOUR SINS now!

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to you with all my sins, my burdens and addictions. Wash me in the precious blood that Jesus shed for me when He died on the cross. Break the chains of sin and of Satan in my life and family. I surrender to you and I want to be yours; spirit, soul and body, for time and eternity. I put my faith in you alone, Lord Jesus Christ. You are the only begotten Son of the Living God. I believe with my heart what I now confess with my mouth: You are my Savior, Lord and God. My sins are now forgiven and I have been "born-again!" Old things have passed away and I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. I am a child of God. I believe it and I receive it in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. AMEN.

(If you sincerely prayed this prayer or one like it from your heart, we welcome you to the family of God. Write us at our e-mail address and we will e-mail you some help in your Christian walk). That address is: christunlimited@bible.com

Steps To Take For New Believers

We would also like to encourage you to continue in your faith by doing the following things:

(1.) Seek out a good Bible believing church and share your decision to follow Christ with the body of believers there and ask to be water baptized. This will seal your commitment to Christ (See BIBLE ANSWERS for more about water baptism).

(2.) Pray everyday. Daily ask God for His guidance and wisdom and the power to lead the overcoming Christian life. Confess your sins to Him quickly, and never fail to give Him thanks for all of His blessings to you.

(3.) Read your Bible every day. This is one of the primary ways that God speaks to you. The whole book is a letter to YOU! The best way to begin to know Him is simply to read about Him. Read the four Gospels first – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Then begin to read other books in the New Testament. Read Romans, read 1 John, read Revelation. Read all the books in between. As you read, ask God to make His word alive and real to you. Ask Him to speak to you through His Word. Tell Him you want to know more about Jesus! Then, as the Holy Spirit directs you, begin to read the Old Testament. There are many "types and shadows" of Jesus in every book of the Old Testament. There are countless prophecies referring to Him. All of the Old Testament points ahead to Christ, the cross, and to the redemption of mankind. All of the New Testament points back to the cross. All of history hinges on that cross. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the single most important event in human history.

(4.) Begin a good Bible Study Program. We have one available on this site plus many other Bible teachings. Click here for the BIBLE STUDY or BIBLE ANSWERS.

(5.) Meet with other Christians and attend church as much as possible. This will encourage you and strengthen you. It is God///'///s desire that all His children fellowship together. God has a place for you in His Body. You have something unique to offer that no one else can do in quite your way. (Refer to 1 Corinthians 12:12-31).

Hebrews 10:24-25 says, "And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

We pray that God will lead you to a fellowship where you will be able to worship with others. There is great strength and power that we receive when we fellowship with each other. God made us dependant upon each other because we all have something to learn. We are the body of Christ. The Body may function without one of it///'///s fingers but the finger cannot survive if it is severed from the rest of the Body.

(6.) Ask God what you can do to serve Him. This is an integral part of "growing up in God." God has a special place for you in His body and he longs to use you to lead others to Him and serve His people. He calls all of us to witness and share with others what He has done for us.

(7.) Resist Satan and temptation! As we begin to draw closer to God, we enter into a realm of spiritual warfare against the evil god of this world. He is the one who is whispering lies of condemnation in your ear. He will do everything he can to keep you from reading and believing the Bible. But the good news is, he is powerless against the power of God. Tell him to LEAVE in the name of JESUS! "Submit yourselves therefore, to God. RESIST the devil and he will flee from you" (James 4:7).

(8.). Ask for the Holy Spirit Baptism. Another important "key" in our walk with God, is receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Have you received this gift with the evidence of speaking in other tongues? If you haven///'///t, ask God to baptize you in the Holy Spirit. When you speak in tongues, you are praying over the most important things that need prayer in your life. It is a powerful and important link in your relationship with God. It will empower you to lead an overcoming Christian life as all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are available to those who ask.  Seek a fellowship of believers that teaches the Full Gospel (See BIBLE ANSWERS for more about the Baptism in the Holy Spirit).

Luke 11:11-13:
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

God loves you dearly and has plans to use you for his glory. He would use you to be a light to this dark world. Most of all though, He wants you as His dear friend. He died for you! We are praying for you. Don///'///t give up–just keep moving forward, closer to God. You will NEVER regret it! He is the most priceless treasure in the entire universe–the glory of a million suns cannot hold a candle to His brilliance. He is everything you have ever wanted, and more.

God bless you! Welcome to the Family of God! We are praying for you.

Love in Christ,

Bud & Betty Miller
