Testimony of Bud Miller’s Dental Miracles
May 19, 2026
The Following Letter Addressed to the wife of Paul Hicks, Sr.
Thank you for letting me know about Paul’s home going. Paul Jr. has been sharing with me about his dad’s medical condition and I had been praying for Paul and for you. I know this has not been easy for you and the family so have been lifting you and the family up, as well. May you all experience God’s love and comfort.
Paul was a wonderful man and Bud and I were so thankful that the Lord sent him and you into our lives years ago. It was a special time for us. I probably have my teeth today because of Paul’s generosity to care for our dental needs back then at no cost to us. We were grateful for that, but most of all we were grateful for his and your love and friendship. You have remained in our prayers over the years.
I will never forget a miracle that the Lord brought forth through the prayers of Paul and Bud years ago. I think it happened shortly after Paul was baptized in the Holy Spirit. To the best of my memory, here’s what happened:
Bud had a bad tooth and he thought maybe it would need to be pulled. Paul took a look at it and suggested they first try a root canal on it. Bud consented so Paul said he could do it right then since he had the time that particular day. Paul had been witnessing a number of miracles at the church services regarding pain in people’s bodies instantly leaving so he suggested to Bud that why didn’t they just pray and ask the Lord to be the pain killer while he performed the root canal. Bud told me he reluctantly agreed, as he did not want to hinder Paul’s faith, but Bud was apprehensive about the whole thing but thought he could holler if he felt any pain. Bud said his pray was, ‘God you better show up, because you know I do not have any faith for this.’ Amazingly, Paul did the whole procedure and Bud felt no pain at all! Bud said it was Paul’s faith, not his. They both praised the Lord and Paul testified about the miracle at the next Christ Unlimited service.
Then, Paul told Bud to come back for some follow-up x-rays, as the pictures he took before this work showed the bone in his jaw had deteriorated under the teeth and Paul wanted to keep an eye on that. Paul took those x-rays the next time Bud came to his office and Paul was shocked to find that when he looked at the film it showed no bone deterioration what-so-ever. Paul was so excited over this second miracle that he told us that he took both the old and new x-ray films to every dental convention he attended in the future and showed the old and new films, side-by- side to his colleagues, as a testimony as to what the Lord did in his office that day. Paul and Bud talked about those dental miracles for years to come and praised God for His goodness!
This brings a smile to my face, as I think of Paul’s faith and love for the Lord. I shall remember him as a man that loved God and I know brought joy to His Heart, as well as to his family, friends and all that knew him!
Although it looks like Earl and I will not be able to attend the Memorial Service this next week, we want you to know that we send our love and prayers. May the Lord bless and comfort you each, knowing that we shall all see Paul again at the resurrection (which does not appear to be that far off, as all the Bible signs that Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24 are coming to pass in the world and they point to the fact that Jesus Christ shall return soon). We shall see all of our saved loved ones again at that time! Praise God! Paul and Bud have probably already been having a great reunion. Praise God!
Love and Blessings,
Betty Miller-Haddix
