It may interest you to hear that Churches in the UK, and in the US long before that, have a history of playing Bingo (not necessarily in the body of the church, but certainly in church halls, under the auspices of the church organisation.) I’m not a religious person, but, even when I first became aware of it, over fifty years ago, it didn’t seem right… As a means of redistribution of wealth, it’s inefficient and random, and offers the desperate some false hope, the lucky, the false impression God has been kind to them, and that they’d been chosen over the unlucky…(Who must, by extension, be less righteous than the winners)
