New Year’s Message 2014

Dear Internet Friends:

We, along with our dedicated staff, wish you a Happy and Blessed New Year in the Lord. It is up to us to be happy, while blessings come from God. Happiness is a state of mind that comes, as we choose not to yield to the negative influences in our lives, but rather choose to rise above those things.

The definition of the word “happy” from the online Webster’s Dictionary is: 1) feeling pleasure and enjoyment because of your life, situation, etc. 2) showing or causing feelings of pleasure and enjoyment 3) pleased or glad about a particular situation, event, etc.

As Christians, we have a helper in us, the Holy Spirit, who gives us the grace and strength to do things which in the natural are impossible. One of those things is we are to find our joy and happiness in Christ that is not subject to our circumstances. If we

think about some of the things that the Bible tells us to do, without God, we could not accomplish them. As Christians, we are told in the Bible that:

The highest way to love is to forgive our enemies and those that hate us and despitefully use us. Luke 6:27 “But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you”

  • The way up in the Kingdom is to go down and humble ourselves to serve others. Mark 10:44: “And whosoever of you will be chiefest, shall be servant of all.”
  • The way to receive is to give. Luke 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
  • The way to be blessed is to bless others.
  • The way out of our troubles is to get into Jesus.
  • The way to be forgiven is to forgive others. Matthew 6:14: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
  • The way to overcome is to yield to God’s will.
  • The way to receive answers to our problems is to pray. Matthew 7:7-8: “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

The list could go on, but the point is that we all need Jesus to do the impossible and to receive the impossible things we have need of. With God all things are possible! If you need a miracle, remember – that is God’s specialty!

Now the first of every year there is talk of making New Year’s resolutions. This is not a bad thing, but without Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, most resolutions are broken before the month of January is over. Even Paul in the New Testament made this statement:

“I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin” (Romans 7:21-25).

From these verses, we see that it is through Jesus Christ our Lord that we will prevail. I have some habits in my own personal life that I would like to change and I remember a preacher years ago who said, “If we want change in our lives, remember that if any changing is to be done it is on our end to do the changing, as God never changes.” We have to line up with God’s Word, as that is our standard. As we cry out to God that we are unable to overcome something and invite Him into our life to help us, we will find Him there empowering us to make the changes we desire.

As Christians, I know we would all like to be able to pray more, read the Bible more and do more for God. If that is your desire, in order for this to happen, BibleResources.org is available to help you do this. We have many online helps on the website that can assist you.

We want thank each of you who have stood with us over the last year. It was not an easy year for many people, but as Christians, God is with us and we can declare His faithfulness and love that continues to prevail over anything the enemy brings our way.

GOD IS GOOD! We are praying that each of you will find the Lord’s grace and mercy over your lives as He directs you into His perfect will! We pray that www.BibleResources.org will be a resource for you to grow in the Word of God and become an overcomer in Christ Jesus! We do not know all the Lord is going to do in 2014, but we are expecting great things to happen for His people for the advancement of the kingdom of God!

We do appreciate all who have written to us or visited the BibleResource.org website. We also thank each one of you who have donated to our ministry on the Internet. We continue to need your support of your prayers, as well as your financial support. As we all stand together, we can see the Lord move in the world in greater ways. Thank you so much and may our Lord reward you greatly for caring.

His grateful servants,
Betty and Bud Miller
